The OTL Africa Downstream Awards celebrate excellence, commitment and industry in downstream petroleum business. Winners in 2009 include Oando Marketing, MRS Oil and Capital Oil and Gas.
Decisions on awards are made by an independent panel of judges. Nominations close 31 September 2010.
The awards are open to all African operators across the various aspects of downstream petroleum business who are participating in the conference and are also nominated for any of the eight award categories viz.:
Transformational Investment Award:
The Transformational Investment Award is in recognition of a most notable investment which, in the eyes of the judges, has revolutionised the industry or certain parts of it by the long-term value it adds.
Exceptional Growth Award:
This award recognises that operator which, with its business vision and acumen, has overcome intense competition and a challenging business environment to achieve significant success within a short period of time.
Downstream Regulator of the Year:
This honours the industry regulator which has through effective administration facilitated economic growth and development within its jurisdiction.
Outstanding Logistics Services Award: This award recognises the service provider who has excelled in proactively meeting customer needs, offering new and innovate solutions and providing benefits to customers in terms of savings in time, money and effort. The judges are also looking for providers that develop close working relationships and effective communications with customers.
Outstanding Shipping Services Award: This recognises the Shipping Company who has consistently provided professional services which are not only fast and reliable but also unmatched in terms of value for money .The shipping company must have consistently recorded excellent client satisfaction in terms of cargo handling, delivery and compensation and at the same time faultless in respect of any regulatory requirement.
Marketing Innovation Award
This is awarded to the company that best demonstrates the employment of creativity in successful promotion of products and services.
Outstanding Brand Award
In considering this award, the judges take into account the reputation of a brand name in relation to being universally recognised for superior quality.
Corporate Social Responsibility Award
The CSR Award recognises the company which has executed the most successful and impactful CSR project in the past 12 months. This award recognises both the communications surrounding a CSR initiative and the initiative itself
